Oh no! You are right, I identified this incorrectly. This does look like a leaf-footed bug. I understand they are harmful to the garden and are in the squash bug family.
If you look at the back legs you will see why this type of assassin bug is known as a "leaf-footed" bug. That will also hep you narrow down your search for the exact species.
