Field Notes

Description:

Showy white flowers, 3/8" across. 5 deeply notched petals 10 stamens. Many smooth, opposite, simple, Denali hairy to smooth. 3/8" long. Flowers in May & June.

Habitat:

Dry, stony ground or thin grassy slopes. Common in prairie parkland.

Notes:

Member of pink family Caryophyllaceae
