Field Notes

Description:

Very abundant especially in North Greece, this Dactylorhiza can be easily discriminated by the thick and bending downwards spur and the deeply divided lip. Another distinct character is the late flowering time (late June-August, usually one month later than other high mountain growing Dactylorhiza species).
Spotted in Pelion mountain, Greece.

Notes:

The 2nd pic, shows a hypochromic flower plant.
