Description:

Spotted this grass tree in Belair park

Habitat:

adelaide hills

Notes:

Xanthorrhoeaceae is a small endemic Australian family (single genus). Stout perennials, leaves linear, grass-like (hence the common name) Flowers are numerous, creamy-white, surrounded by foral bracts and embedded in a tall spike-like inflorescence. Stamens free, ovary superior.
