Description:

An orchid, called Lady's Slipper or Moccasin flower. Native to USA. Unusual or endangered in Georgia, Illinois, New York and Tennessee.

Habitat:

This is one of the largest native Orchids and is found both in low, sandy woods and in higher rocky woods of mountains. Dry forests, especially pine woods. They propogate poorly and should not be picked. (www.wildflower.org)
