Description:

Most were 3 cm long grayish blue or grayish purple (varied appearance). This dogwinkle is a predator. Shown in the pics with its favorite prey - Acorn barnacles (Balanus glandula). The dogwinkle drills into the barnacle or shell with its radula, injects digestive enzymes which liquefy the tissues, and sucks out the contents.
