Description:

Red crustose lichen found in large patches on this tree. Some have a bit more beige-green and some patches were bright red. Pyrenula cruenta?

Habitat:

Found on a holly tree in a suburban yard

Thanks MrsPbio. I would say this more closely represents Pyrenula cruenta as I mentioned in the description, but I am not positive on that ID. However, I am pretty positive this is not Cryptothecia rubrocincta.
This is always fun to see, and fortunately it is very common here in Florida.
