Field Notes

Description:

Right from childhood, we thought earthworms were disgusting. Especially on the way to school after rain, we saw crushed worms everywhere. They do not have eyes, but only light-sensitive cells in the skin. So by pumping out sex hormones, they find partners. They find each other by smelling. This species is 2 to 10 cm long with a yellowish or orange tail end.

Habitat:

Forest under the bark of a rotting tree.

Notes:

Norwegian name: Stubbemeitemark
