Field Notes

Description:

The Gray monjita is about 20cm and is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, and Uruguay. Generally observed alone, which I suppose explains the Spanish name, "Viudita gris", meaning "Gray widow". It normally poses in visible places such as poles, shrubs, wires and fences. In springtime they can be observed in couples too.

Habitat:

It's normally seen in open woods or areas with shrubs, preferably near seashores or lakes.
