Field Notes

Description:

mat-forming perennial, fragrant, to 2" high with slender, hairy stem.
Flowers are 1/4" across in clusters. Flowering time is June - August.

Habitat:

Subalpine to Alpine

Notes:

Love these delicate little flowers. We saw these on Bison Peak (12,431 ft.) in the Lost Creek Wilderness Area in Colorado. With the scouring winds and unforgiving sun at this altitude, it never ceases to amaze me that such amazing beauty can thrive here. http://www.odetoormes.blogspot.com/
