Description:

Beautiful bright green hummingbird with with bluish-purple patches across sides of head (thus the "violetear").

Habitat:

Pretty much anywhere, any elevation, rural or urban in Costa Rica.

Notes:

This guy was taking a bath in a puddle of water left after a rain on a palm frond. Fun to watch!
