Field Notes

Description:

The Nile Crocodile grows up to 20 feet long here.

Habitat:

Rivers and caves on the Island.

Notes:

Driven almost to extinction here in the 1950's. They have recovered and some are farmed and some live in the wild.
The Malagasy lived in peaceful coexistence with them for many years. I have pictures of smaller ones in a Parc National.

This is the only thing on the Island that is scary. Everything else is basically harmless here.
