Description:

This picture confirms the presence of Black Widows in my backyard,
I found this one hanging on his web in the shed. You can see the red hourglass markings on its abdomen. Very glossy spider. Likes moisture. The heavy rains brought these spiders in.
This is a venomous species. The mate is eaten up after the mating occurs. Hence the name black widow.
