Field Notes

Description:

Cap convex white to yellow 5" across, & smooth, gills crowded seceding, stalk central & very solid, white inside, outside white/yellow & light brown.

Habitat:

Mixed forest, Canton, GA 30114 had 1" rain yesterday

Notes:

Gills not in lines but more pore like with 1/2" thick collar directly under cap, gills dark brown.

auntnance123, yes I also think? It is a bolete, but having really hard time finding which one. Many thanks tho!
I have just started really trying to ID fungi using Audubon N.A. ed. So any help or direction would be most appreciated.
