Description:

Anna's blue butterflies are typically found at elevations above 3,000 feet, which is where I spotted this male in the alpine meadows at the base of Mt. Hood.

Habitat:

The meadow contained plenty of fresh lupine (Lupinus latifolius) and alpine aster (Aster alpigenus).
