Field Notes

Description:

MALE: Deep crimson in colour; FEMALE: Orangy. On sunny days, it has the habit of pointing its abdomen vertically upwards, probably to reduce heat exposure. Drops its wings when resting.

Habitat:

Gardens, parks, ponds.

Notes:

Spotted at the (former) Mandai Orchid Garden, Singapore.
