Field Notes

Description:

Brown sunken top 6" across, bottom dark brown to brown, gills crowed pore like attached (adnexed), stalk end bulbous & central. Stalk was solid & yellow.

Habitat:

Mixed forest, Canton, GA 30114, 7/5/11 1630 After 1" rain yesterday

Notes:

Smells "bad" up close, but like chocolate from 1' away.

Was growing Out of a bank of lowing growing green moss. White middle turns blue-black when cut open & mixed. Help would be greatly appreciated.
