Field Notes

Description:

Bright orange flowers with stems about 1 or 2 feet tall. This plant does not have a milky juice like other milkweeds. Flowers June through September.

Habitat:

Spotted near the Tamarac visitor center. Grows in dry open soil, roadsides, and fields.

Notes:

Milkweed family. Bright colored flowers attract butterflies.
