Three-toed Sloth
Bradypus (Genus)
9.40972, -84.1553
Field Notes
Description:
Grayish coloration with thick and shaggy coat. It really blends in well with the tree trunk coloration.
Habitat:
I found this sloth in the Manuel Antonio National Park in Costa Rica
Notes:
This sloth was actually climbing up the tree! When I came upon it, it had just started climbing. This is quite rare as most often sloths are sleeping high up in trees. As expected, it moved very slowly, but you can tell how masterful its camouflage really is.
