Description:

Is a plant belonging to the family Fabaceae. Is an erect, shrubby herb with solitary, dark pink pea-like flowers and trifoliate leaves. As its name suggests, it also has spines. It is in flower from July to September and is pollinated by bees.

Spiny Restharrow has value in helping to treat inflammation, as a diuretic and in the treatment of kidney gravel.

Habitat:

It is found throughout much of Europe but seldom as far north as Scotland.
