Congrats on your highlight for fact of the day! Wonderful spotting!
Congratulations CataAna, your spotting is featured in our Fact of the Day: "Attention, vulnerable! The quokka, a small marsupial the size of a domestic cat, is the only member of the genus Setonix (family Macropodidae). Quokkas’ scattered populations are restricted to a very small range in the South West of Western Australia. The largest population is found on Rottnest Island, a small sandy island just off the coast devoid of predators such as cats and foxes. With overall populations declining the quokka is listed as Vulnerable on the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened species. http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/20165/0 Quokka (Setonix brachyurus) spotted on Rottnest Island, Western Australia, by Project Noah user CataAna" Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/projectnoah/photos/a.10150595289465603.674700.10150120463815603/10156261008135603/?type=3&theater
What a strange animal! Great series CataAna!
Wow! I never seen anything like this, thank you for uploading!
What a little beauty! I wish I would visit Australia some day...
You should definitely go when it gets a bit warmer. It was really windy and cold, but still beautiful and less tourists around.
You went to Rottnest island. I am so jealous.
