Description:

Also called Bermuda Buttercup, this sourgrass brightens up the trail side and the freeway slopes in March and April in Southern California.

These flowers are also common in the grassfields of my native birthplace in Alicante (Spain). There we call them vinagreta or agret because of their taste like vinegar. It seems like the name makes sense with sourgrass in English :-)

Could be. I picked up a native plant guide for my county and it seemed to fit O.pes-capre. I found this plant very close to the nature center at Batiquitos Lagoon. I'll pop in there sometime and check with one of the plant guru's.

seems that way, there are several sp, which are cultivated as ornamental plant like O. tetraphylla - however, I think it is Oxalis megalorrhiza
