Lamb's Ear
Stachys byzantina
34.7527, -112.438
Field Notes
Description:
Very fuzzy, dusty green. What I've captured is one with no flower spikes, which is how they are normally seen and a couple with a flower spike. They rarely flower so this was exciting for me.
Habitat:
Any temperate climate.
Notes:
It makes a great natural toilet paper. It is also very astringent, making it useful to stop bleeding on cuts and for extracting poison from bug bites and snakebites.
