Assassin Bug Nymph
Pselliopus sp.
37.51, -77.65
Field Notes
Description:
Brightly colored with an orange body and striped legs and antennae. Not sure of the species since nymphs of different species can look similar. Assassin bugs prey on other arthropods. I suspect it was hunting insects attracted to the flowers of the plant on which it was found. They are often found on flowers.
Habitat:
Suburban. Found on a Partridge Pea plant.
