Field Notes

Habitat:

Vast stretch of grassy land by one of the major rivers of Sikkim. Warm to hot place.
Altitude: approximately 500 m.

Notes:

This beautiful butterfly was spotted during one of our angling trips in West Sikkim. About one to two kilometres away there is a recently completed hydro-electricity power house for which this area was dug up and the area was vastly disturbed. Now the area has turned out to be a vast bushy land.
