Thanks matimar1
I guess the sizes of our birds is small because they are very active and exercise well FoTony ;) just kidding.
i am sure you were. Thanks so much for your wonderful photography and spottings.
thank you FoTony!
this guy had eaten a lot emma , watched him for quite some time ,say around half an hour and this guy had gobbled up like around 4-5 fish. i think thats quite a lot for such a small bird!!
The size is obviously related to the size of the prey it eats. But i do not think that you can pass a judgement based on size. The bird is probably as perky and intelligent as it's Western counterparts. and beautiful too. Bigger always does not mean better, Nor does Smaller always mean bad.
the silhouette is very similar to the belted king fisher we have here. The same beak. This has a collar around its neck? Very cute indeed!
Thanks Ismael!!
Sandra these are indeed beautiful birds to see especially when they are fishing.i could stand and watch them for hours together thanks
I love kingfishers! never saw one in person :) beautiful shot!
Hahaha..nice one... Its so funny pose in first picture...pressed his tail on base for balancing while looking here and there...!!
