Eurasian Kingfisher

Hahaha, good one.

Now I know why my Kingfisher was so easy to spot.

I guess the sizes of our birds is small because they are very active and exercise well FoTony ;) just kidding.

The size is obviously related to the size of the prey it eats. But i do not think that you can pass a judgement based on size. The bird is probably as perky and intelligent as it's Western counterparts. and beautiful too. Bigger always does not mean better, Nor does Smaller always mean bad.

It looks like the ones we have around here are much better fed.

the silhouette is very similar to the belted king fisher we have here. The same beak. This has a collar around its neck? Very cute indeed!
