Description:
Six inches from beak to tail - tip, wingspan is about seven inches, black wings & tail but white abdominal feathers. It has screeching loud bird call.
Habitat:
Open fields with scrub and bushes. It likes to perch on trees and electric poles or wires.
Notes:
It flies over low shrubs and perches on the same tree or fence everyday. You can hear the screeching bird call while in flight and while it is perching on tree branches. It sometimes has yellowish feathers that are in stark contrast to its tail, back & wing feathers. The Long-tailed shrike is a resident bird of UP Campus in Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines.
