Field Notes

Description:

Sarangesa bouvieri, Bouvier’s Elfin, is a butterfly in the Hesperiidae family, subfamily - Pyrginae

This little skipper was incredibly skittish. It few so fast, it was almost impossible to see where it went. Luckily after some time it would return to the same area. Took me quite a while to get close enough to take these photos!

Habitat:

Seen while walking through a wild area at the back of UWEC the Uganda Wildlife Education Center.

Notes:

UWEC Uganda Wildlife Education Center is a voluntary organisation for conservation education and the rescue of animals orphaned or confiscated from poachers. It is based in Entebbe, on the shores of Lake Victoria.
