Field Notes

Description:

Starts as a thin yellow scum, then expands to a multi-dimensional yellowish mass, turns white, then darker and fades away. Oozes when poked.

Habitat:

I have seen it growing on wood chip mulch in my front yard and on a living oak tree in my back yard.
