Field Notes

Description:

Has very thin petals. Thick stem and oddly shaped leaves and leaves are long. This plant is 1.5-3.5ft tall and comes from a thick root. Part of the Aster Family of flowers/plants. Flowering is from May through July with fruiting in late summer.

Habitat:

Found in Eastern United States Found in meadows and open woodlands.
