Description:

orange and black in color. Appears to look like it might have a stinger. Didn't want to get close enough to find out.

Habitat:

Near wooded open area.

Looks like some sort of robber fly (family Asilidae).
Out of all the ones i have unidentified this is the one that's bugging (pun intended) the most. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
yeah, still can't figure out exactly what he is.
