Field Notes

Description:

Found on dead log. Looked like large oyster from afar but gelatinous and wet in rainless dry area. Weirdest thing ive seen. Had small finger like projections similar to boletes on underside near edges. Near base of mushroom it had gill like structures. Top of mushroom varied and looked decayed or?? Very firm structure despite Jello- wet feel. Could ring water out and squeeze in my hands without loosing any part of fungi body

Habitat:

Old deciduous forest near dry creek bed on highland not far from old dump and res.areas. Tree unknown probably oak/ elm. Definitely not evergreen or aromatic wood. Recently fallen tree with bark intact. Highly shaded area

Notes:

Possible new species, vastly undocumented, or new to me.
