Looks like a House Finch (Carpodacus mexicanus) on the left and a House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) on the right, though I can't be positive from this photo.
This picture doesn't have great quality, so I can't really tell what type of bird this is, but I suggest you research sparrows, finches and possibly chickadees, and since you actually saw the birds, you could be able to identify them.
