I'll send you a photo via Facebook. Go check it out and see what you think.
How important is color for walking sticks? I'm having trouble finding green bodied ones with brown legs for this species, but it might be because the only pictures that I'm finding are the males?
That's my best guess, based on what I can see.
I want to go because of all the awesome stuff they find! Ringnecks and Milks are super abundant up there. I have only seen 3 ringnecks and 1 milk ever. And I do not, if you have any ideas though I remember what it looked like. I just snapped a quick photo with my phone and put it in the grass because I was in a hurry
Their field trips always seem well attended. Again, I've never been to one. I just supported the organization with my membership. I got into it because a herp friend was going to school up there and was active in the society. I was also sad that OK couldn't get their act together and resurrect the OHS. Back to the stick... do you have any other photos of it?
They haven't officially announced it yet, and I don't remember the name of the town, but it was right near the flint hills. They have field trips in September and in the spring and I'm really going to try to go to one. They end up finding over 1,200 organisms in one weekend most of the time, and I think that's more herps than I've ever seen in my life lol
Which town hosts next year? As I recall, it's in the town of the current KHS President. I always thought early November wasn't the best time to hold the meeting, if people wanted to do some herping, that is. I would think a month prior would be better.
Come next year! I will be presenting again, and rumor has it the meeting will be in an amazing herping spot :) First weekend in November, mark your calender now!
I was a KHS member for many years and just let it slip. I never made it to an annual meeting. :-(
I was giving a presentation over my research at the Kansas Herpetological Society meeting. And you're the one that is supposed to ID this guy for me!
Hey, what are you doing in Wichita?
