Thank you Latimeria. .. and now, I think it is a leaf beetle (fam) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysomelidae maybe a member of sub-fam of Hispinae http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hispinae
I don't think it's a darkling beetle, its rough elytra and feet don't look right. It almost looks like a tortoise beetle, but it's not that either...I know I've come across one of these in a book before, but I can't remember what it was. Also, you should remove it from the Lost Ladybug Project, since it's not a ladybug.
