Field Notes

Description:

The nymphs of this species of Stink Bug are extremely colorful (possibly bad tasting as well as bad smelling). The adults (Pictures 5 and 6) are more subdued and blend into the foliage better. The nymphs and adults were on the same plant. Family Pentatomidae.

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.

Notes:

This species (still unidentified) was spotted in Oaxaca, Mexico in 2012 by BioEu:
