Description:
A dragonfly with turquoise eyes and wings that are transparent except for notches of black near the tips.
Habitat:
Pond at Hidden Valley Natural Area in the Kansas City, Mo., city limits.
Notes:
I don't know much about dragonflies, so any assistance identifying exactly what type of dragonfly it is would be appreciated. The pond was thick with dragonflies -- not all the same kind -- feeding and engaging in what looked like fighting behavior.
