Thank you so much for the moth education, bayucca... I photograph new, mostly unidentified moths here every evening...and you seem to have the answers!

Arctiidae, Arctiinae, Hypercompe muzina. If you look very carefully under the wings you might see some spots as well as the same ones at the margins. Muzina is the only Hypercompe I know with a "bald" head, meaning no spots or markings at all, like the other Hypercompe shows. Remember your own Leopard moth. As usual the bold specimens are quite old and almost no more colors are visible. But I think the criteria of your wonderful and fresh moth fits with Muzina. Same procedure as every year: Verify!

What a cute little moth. The wings are almost clear and the body color is fantastic.
