This is definitely a Tiger Beetle. We have these and the larva are cool to watch catch their prey since they stay in a burrow with their head even to the ground to conceal their presence and what lies beneath.
Agreed, this is a tiger beetle. Buprestidae do not have yellow legs, long legs, nor long antennae.
This actually looks more like a tiger beetle than an ash borer
Yes, I had to run after this one down a flight of stairs! Lol
they may have i live in western massachusetts and i saw one the other day but it flew away befor i could get a photo of it! i got so excited to photograph it too!
Yes there are! I guess they are invasive and have made their way down to Florida?

Thanks, It was very hard to get the photo, it ran and hid, I took 10 photos before I could get a good shot! It is one of the most beautiful insects I have ever seen!
