Description:

Interesting & quite funny subspecie of the fly, spotted today on a piece of rock. Never saw this type before. Top of the wings was blue. Could only take one decent shot, then she was off.

Yes, after checking I think it's a Trypetoptera punctulata, but not very sure. They also seem to have this "trump" which is much bigger than other flies. I don't know how you call that part.
hm... I think I saw something similar: take a look: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6691236 maybe that helps could be some kind of dung fly too ... not sure about that
the pattern on the wings makes me think of some kind of true fruit fly.
You have any reference? All black fruit flies I scanned don't look like the one above?
