Notes:

These birds nest right on the beach. The baby's coloring helps them blend into the sand to protect them from predatory birds. Unfortunately for them it doesn't always work. I did see a seagull swoop in a pick up a little baby. It ended up dropping the baby. I'm not sure how the baby fared after the fall.

The little baby in the first two photos tried to take over the spot of the older bird. That didn't last very long.

poor little guy...I hope that is not the one that got swooped up by the gull?
He got evicted from this spot by the original occupant as seen in the second photo.
