Sttweets, I spotted this bird in the mono basin.If you are a nature lover you should really visit Mono Lake. The mono basin is the main breeding ground for these sea gulls. However they have discovered, thru continuous monitoring, that their numbers are declining in the mono basin. I looked up this information in the Mono Lake Newsletter 2011

@Emma, I think it's the Great black-backed Gull. It could also be the Lesser Black-backed Gull, although I would expect he legs to bee brighter yellow. Another factor is size, but thats hard to tell from the picture. Please check wikipedia for details.
