Field Notes

Description:

About 7 inches long. Dark head which looks large for its body, pale yellow belly and a "vest" of light gray.

Habitat:

Trees in pasture.

Notes:

I see and hear these from September through March. They look similar to Juncos and Kingbirds but their call is unmistakeable - "Phoebe. Phoebe?"
