Field Notes

Description:

Coastal Bottlenose Dolphin. Large marine mammal. Grey in color. About 7-8 feet long. (2-3 meters). The coastal type is typical a bit smaller than the offshore type.

Habitat:

Gulf of Mexico off Louisiana Coast.

Notes:

Sighted in afternoon. During this sighting there were 2-3 others also swimming nearby the boat. Like usual they swim along with the boat for a distance and then typically wonder off after a short distance.
