Field Notes

Description:

Metalic orange wings. Wingspan around 30mm. Male butterflies are colored bright gold-red on the upper side of wing, while the females have broader orange wings with a dark design.

Habitat:

It is very popular in Poland. You can see it near forests. Flower-rich, dry and damp medows.
