Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized Heron. Looked about 2 – 2.5 feet tall. (61-77cm). Blue and white coloration. Deep blue body with white head plume and white under neck and on belly. Very similar in look to the Little Blue Heron with the difference being the white coloration.

Habitat:

Marsh. Wetlands. Spotted on Gulf Coast in Louisiana in Brackish Marsh.

Notes:

This guy was patrolling the edge of a pond no doubt looking breakfast.
