Field Notes

Description:

Mature Herring gulls white with light gray back and wings and black wing tips/white spots. Feet are pink or flesh colored. First year birds are brownish. I noted the difference in the markings on the bills.

Habitat:

Seashore. These are in a beach parking lot. Also seen around garbage dumpsters and garbage bins.
