Field Notes

Description:

This gull has a darker head and lighter body. It looks like it is carrying an unidentified fish.

Habitat:

Gulf Coast of Florida, Destin. It lives close to shore and lays eggs in the marshes. It is listed as a species of least concern in the endangered species listings. But, the Gulf Coast Oil Spill that got into the marshes may effect the egg laying habitats.
