Field Notes

Description:

Probably a male and a female? Usually seen in the trees, but I was lucky enough to see them at the place where we were staying. They had a reddish spot under the tail. They looked beautiful in flight and if we see them from behind the red spot was visible. Again help of the experts required to Id them.

Ashish any mountain or forest has a great impact on the flora and fauna. If you visit Madhya pradesh forests you will be shocked with the variety that nature has to offer because of its forests.
Welcome..!! Hope you enjoy Dan's collection he had good spotting from India.
@Nicole In India Sahyadri mountain made great impact on Indian Flora and Fauna. In east of Sahyadri and West of Sahyadri some difference in colours, size, behavior are observed in many mammals, birds and insects and plants. Sahyadri also known as Western ghats of India.
Yes we do have some very amazing birds. Thanks.
Good! :-) It's good to see the variety and learn what you have in India :-) So many amazing birds there!
Nicole, they were not white from the front as in the streak throated swallow the front neck was almost identical to the back in colour. I feel what I have marked is proper. Thanks for the suggestion.
Do you have any idea what they looked like from the front? I am thinking along the lines of a Streak-throated Swallow: http://www.birdforum.net/opus/Hirundo_fluvicola
Their chest telling they can be cubs of some bird too...
This style of sitting and wings shape matches most with Swallows... Need Collins bird guide for confirmation.
Thanks Ashish, any idea which one to look at specifically?
I feel they are Swallows...!!
