Hey Elise... I think some description might be helpful here. :-)
Unless the white thing is a dew spider. They sit in the webs of big spiders and help themselves to meals caught there
I think the white thing is prey wrapped in silk, these webs usually accommodate big spiders when they are home. The spider may be hiding at the end of one of the support threads until nightfall
Is that a tiny white spider? Any close up photos?
